The heart of Whiskerton’s rail network, where trains arrive, journeys begin, and the city stays connected.

Overview

Central Station is Whiskerton’s primary railway terminal and one of the city’s most important civic landmarks. Beneath its great iron-and-glass roof, passengers, merchants, students, workers, and travelers pass through the city each day.

More than a transport hub, the station is a place of arrivals, departures, reunions, opportunities, delays, luggage carts, hurried footsteps, and stories waiting to begin.

Character of the Station

The station is defined by constant motion. Steam rises from platforms, timetables change, parcels move between offices, and announcements echo beneath the vaulted roof.

Its Main Hall is known for its high windows, station clock, ticket counters, waiting areas, and the steady flow of travelers crossing between platforms and the surrounding streets.

Transport and Connections

Central Station connects Whiskerton to distant towns, regional routes, freight lines, tram services, and internal city transport. Passenger platforms serve daily travel, while freight yards and parcel offices handle goods moving between the city’s markets, workshops, docks, and factories.

Its proximity to the Lantern District makes the station especially active in the evenings, when travelers arrive, residents gather, and nearby streets remain bright with lamps and open doors.

Atmosphere

Central Station smells of coal smoke, warm iron, polished wood, paper tickets, raincoats, luggage leather, and fresh tea from nearby stalls.

By day, it is loud and practical. By night, its windows glow like a lantern of their own, and the last trains carry stories away into the dark.
