The reflection of light, an image of the universe showing only the Astra and the Veda. Without matter and nothingness, distance and space mean little here. The stellar deities reside here in their true forms, as do the demons of the darkness. Nebulae are gateways from our universe to the eternal light and it is there that the celestials push their light into the universe in the form of stars. Black holes are also gateways but to the endless darkness and it is through them that the dark powers steal the light away from the universe forever. It is said that in dreams, souls are released from their material bodies into the astral plane before they are pulled back into the realm of matter. The souls of the dead appear in this plane and make their journey to the final destination of light or darkness. Without a corporeal body to anchor them, souls filled with evil are quickly pulled by the gravity of Veda to the endless darkness, and souls filled with goodness are attracted by the magnetism of Astra to the eternal light. However most people fall somewhere in the middle, with the two forces trying to pull them in opposite directions. Ordinarily one force is still greater than the other and the soul moves slowly in that direction, taking decades or sometimes even centuries to reach their final end. Rarely, the forces are so equal that the soul doesn't move at all, and is trapped in equilibrium limbo for eternity. And sometimes there are souls who have lost their material body but are still anchored the material realm by another piece of matter, usually a magical object or place. These spirits phase in and out between the astral plane and the material plane and cannot reach their destination until their connection to matter is severed.
