Maran is the middle son of Westra (née Rommel) Blackwood. While mentally around the range of six or seven, he is a genius when it comes to woodworking, as well as having a raw and amazing talent for potionmaking and alchemy. He is friends with Xoblob. Maran is kind, a bit shy, and extremely careful in using proper manners around others.
He currently lives at the tavern with Erky, and keeps busy with carpentry projects and helping out around the place. He has recently taken to learning better woodworking under Talisonvar "Tally" Fellbranch, and his projects are astounding in their complexity and design. Although strictly mundane constructions, the craftsmanship is so exquisite that some of the pieces he has created cause an almost magical enhancement to be bestowed upon items made using his work (Z's loom, for example).
In a disastrous turn of events, Vajra Safhar, upon her death, transferred the duties of Blackstaff to Maran. The details of this event can be found in Ander's letter, in the session Ander's Letter Full of...More Questions [Session 92].
