Dear Friends,

Now that we are sure Ander is being cared for, I'm afraid I must beg your leave for a time.  I need to confer with my coven in the Misty Forest about my visions. I had another when we last rested and I cannot discern their meaning.  I'm hopeful the women of my coven may provide some guidance on how to interpret these strange omens.

My most recent vision began in the same way as the previous one.  The winged being carried me forward, even closer to the giant, dark warrior. Beneath his feet lay hundreds, maybe thousands of slain monsters of the dark, victims of some great battle. This time though, there was someone else. In front of the dark warrior and his slain minions lay the small figure of a beautiful young woman. She was dressed in a fine gown of silver, blue and white like the colors of the springtime sky or of magic itself.  Her face was streaked with blood that dripped down from a terrible wound on her head.  The blood was so stark against her fine clothing. She lay on the ground with a hand raised against the warrior trying to defend herself against his might. A simple iron key hung from a gold chain around her neck.

As we approached, the shadow warrior raised his staff into the air and a beam of shadow began to darken the sun. The land was cast into darkness as the sun was almost completely blacked out. The young woman screamed, her face drawn tight with terror.  I tried to break free of my transport but the creature's grip was too tight on me. As I called out to the woman, the warrior swung his staff, the stone now glowing with the fury of the sun itself.

The staff struck its target and the air split with a deafening crack followed by a terrified scream from the woman. The staff hilt shattered into thousands of splinters that flew through the air.  The stone itself cracked and a huge piece of it flew through the air, landed and disappeared into the earth.  The woman lay unmoving on the ground at the monster's feet.  I couldn't tell if she was still breathing.  The dark warrior bent down and ripped the key from her neck, breaking the chain. Then he looked at the remains of his staff and pulled a tiny fragment of the gem from its tip, all that remained of the powerful stone. The image of the woman began to shimmer and start to fade and then I was ripped from the vision by a sound in the room, Lady Blackwood making herself some tea.

My dear friends, I do not want to abandon you, even for a short time but I must find out all I can about these visions. I'll return to you at Trollskull as soon as I am able. I will send Midnight with any news.

Please, be safe.

Always,

Tabitha
