Dear Elyana,
I received yours and Barrett’s letters, please know they found me well and your care and wishes made me very happy. I heard of the events since my departure and also of the fate regarding Bran. While I am saddened by the toll it took on you all, Waterdeep and the Northwest Faerun region is far better off with him dead. I do feel for Lady Blackwood and the rest of her family due to the pain and tragedy brought to them by her own son.
Please know I made it back to my coven well and in good spirits. We celebrated my 18th birthday and I got to catch up with my coven sisters and elders. It seems like a lifetime ago I was a young girl learning her place in the world, and now my fate has started to reveal itself. So much is now expected of me, and I face it with courage and strength knowing you all are with me.
I was sent forth to perform the right of passage into “witch hood” by completing tasks of bravery and wisdom. I was also able to learn some information regarding my visions and the evil wizard responsible. His name is Cyric and he casts a darkness over the regions as he gains power. He was imprisoned many years ago and he has been held there by 12 keys. The keepers of the keys are random and spread throughout the regions and some do not know they have such responsibilities. I am now one of these key keepers, as the key has been bestowed upon me as part of my destiny. I now possess the key to the weaving of magic, not a title or responsibility I take lightly. As it sits now Cyric is searching for other ways out of imprisonment, possibly using the eretheal planes to escape. He will continue to increase his power until he can break free then we will have hell to pay trying to imprison him once again. He must be stopped at all costs.
I visited with our spirit mother Maetha who revealed to me that one of the plane keepers is a boy we saved, yet he doesn’t know this is his fate. The task of protecting Ander has become more complex and dangerous as he is a key figure to keeping Cyric locked away. All the more reason others will want him dead, so we must remain vigilant. This information needs to get to those watching over Ander immediately so they can prepare accordingly. Other attempts on his life become certain the more desperate Cyric becomes in breaking free from his bonds.
My bags are packed and I am bringing all my belongings (as modest as they are) along with a new item. A crystal scrying ball given to me as a birthday gift. I shall use it well. There are plenty of items to create more potions, and I am even bringing back some greater health potions for Barrett and you to use. Take courage and stay safe my dear friend. I am coming home…
