Having followed the Iskra Lowe from Waterdeep, he ultimately wants the Stone of Golorr and originally believed the group has possession of it. He potentially believed them when Z tells him they don't, but whether or not this has convinced the captain to leave the group truly alone has yet to be ascertained. He is considered by others who know him as a bit odd, and he is known to speak and read at least Elvish.
Allowing Z audience with two of his crewmembers, it is revealed that Z knew them prior as members of the troupe he traveled with - The Dazzling Daresays. Captain Zord is responsible for shooting Pashpatu Rai in the head to gain more answers out of Janeglen Varrik when the Gnome wouldn't answer to Z's questioning.
