In Selvario, many believe gnomes are to elves as halflings are to humans. Though gnomes resemble elves, they are more distant to elves than humans are. Similar to halflings, due to the resemblance gnomes show to humanoid races, they are often treated better than other inhuman races.
Gnomes enjoy nature, arguably more than elves, and tend to avoid settling in major cities of humanoid races; though, gnomes aren't against living alongside them. Like other inhuman races, gnomes remain in their own communities, many spending their entire lives without leaving. Gnome communities are often hidden from others, not out of a reclusive nature like other inhuman races, but as a test to see who can actually find them. Gnomes, an already easy-going and party folk, will throw celebrations for any outsider who manages to find the hollow.
