Raima

Second of the Frostdew
Player Character

Raima is a reclusive wanderer of the Frozen North, occasionally appearing in one of the Ten Towns and their surrounding villages whenever her stocks are low or during the bitter winter nights. She has been known to take work from the merchants, farmers and villagers in the area: manual labour during harvest time, hunting, guarding or sheppherding, though always on the outskirts of town or on the farms, away from people. When she does work, she keeps to herself and shies away from conversation of her past. That's why she enjoys sheppherding the most.

There is rumour that Raima has a terrible past that she has escaped from. Whenever someone asks about her life before Ten Towns, she generally shrugs or growls and walks away. Some have talked of seeing the edges of a diamond tattoo that takes up the whole of her back and others have supposed that this could be a symbol to Auril and that that's where her past lies. All of these are rumours, as none have actually seen the whole thing nor can confirm.

Though she is welcome in villages and establishments in the area, the locals typically give her the benefit of the doubt, often giving her a free meal or room and board. Sometimes this is to avoid argument, but often it is in the hope that Auril will bless them with an easy winter.

Despite this, Raima has been a saviour to some of the local farmers. Her list of good deeds are known: she once saved a farmer's young daughter who had fallen down an old well (she practically dived right in after her without any heed for her own life), and spent a long winter driving off wolves who were stalking the livestock of a farm North of the Ten Towns.
