All player characters will begin as (mostly) ordinary Mortals. However, it is my goal to have them add a supernatural template at some point during the course of the game. Each player will choose two preferred templates, and while I will do my best to make certain they get it, game play will ultimately determine how and when they become one of the supernatural. The templates to choose from are:
1) Mage - Player can add the "Sleepwalker" merit at character creation. This does not 100% guarantee becoming a Mage later in the game, but an Awakening will be added into the plot for that player. I'm just not going to tell you WHEN it will happen. I can 100% guarantee that you will not become a werewolf if you choose the Sleepwalker merit.
2) Werewolf - Player can add the "Wolf-blooded" merit at character creation. This does not 100% guarantee becoming a Werewolf later in the game, but the First Change will be added to the plot for that player. I'm just not going to tell you WHEN it will happen. I can 100% guarantee that you will not become a mage if you choose the Wolf-blooded merit.
3) Vampire - Player can add the "Ghoul" merit at character creation, and the player will be assigned an NPC regnant. This does not 100% guarantee becoming a Vampire later in the game, but the Embrace will be added to the plot for that player. It can be planned with or without the player's knowledge and input. I can 100% guarantee that you will not become a mage or a werewolf if you choose the Ghoul merit.
4) Changeling - Any "ordinary" mortals, Sleepwalkers, Wolf-blooded, or even Ghouls have a remote chance of becoming one of the Lost. The kidnapping and escape from Arcadia will be added to the plot for the player, either by choice or gameplay circumstance.
5) Geist/Sin Eaters - You have the choice to be Bound to a Geist upon the event of your death.
6) Promethean - Your physical remains can be used to give a new Created being the Spark of Life following the event of your death.
