Session 2 - "Which way did he go George?"

All spells cast at the end went off successfully!

Beks was able to flank into a position to follow the unknown photographer who camera suddenly and mysteriously quit working due to bad batteries. The man turned and left the restaurant on to the busy streets of Chicago. Beks was able to see his head bobbing in the sea of people to begin walking casually to follow. Archive and Verium discussed what to do and thought best to follow the man. Even if they lost him Verium was pretty sure in the next 24 hour a clue to his name would fall into her lap. They arrived outside and was not able to see him but was able to see Beks and followed.

Mage sight determined he was alive as a normal human. Archive peered with magic to determine this fellow was not a mage. two block into the chase the cabal felt the nimbus of tornado force winds blowing around them from a mage casting a spell. The identity couldn't be placed but the effects were easy to see. All of the sudden like a machine the man began walking with extreme efficiently doubling his walking speed. Keeping a steady pace quickly became a non option as he began to outpace Beks without her breaking into a run to keep up. Verium cast a time spell ton Beks who suddenly caught every break possible to keep a eye on him even if it meant leaving her cabalmates behind in the throng of people. Keeping pace a few more blocks Beks once again felt the nimbus and lost sight of her prey as he disappeared from her view all together.

The cabal met as some backtrack and others pushed forward. While thinking on their next move the cabal found their first mystery in the form of a message directly for them in invisible runes spell. This lead them to a message written on fine papyrus bearing the seal of the Golden Pyramid Cabal. Inside was a missive from Anubis a Obrimos mage who was acting as a member of the Guardians of the Veil not as her cabal. The photographer is a mortal named Martin Harris who has been marked as a possible Awakening and was guided unknowingly into a Guardians of the Veils Labyrinth. If a mortal is able to follow the clues within they are exposed to deeper and deeper level of the truth of the world. If they can't they simply shown the exit knowing nothing more than their own ignorance. However if they realize perhaps the world they know is bigger than the Lie they know they have the chance to Awaken. Anubis placed him on the Cabals path with the blessing of Posesiden. Hopefully the spells thrown against him would trigger breaking points in his mind as he tried to make sense of the nights events. The general consensus of the cabal was they did not like being used in the schemes of other mages.

As the weeks flew by the cabal bonded and drove to Willowbrook to begin their new adventure. As they crossed the boundary proper of Willowbrook Verium eye for the strange told her something had happened, she couldn't put her finger on it but was certain. The Silver Ladder had set the cabal up at the Solius Townhouse in New Town district. Exploring the townhouse Archive claimed the master bedroom due to its size, not for her king size bed to fit but multiple bookshelves and a small cot. Verium took the middle leaving Beks with the smallest. Examining the house Supernally the wards were up as they should be for every Arcanum they lacked.

968360ea136a25f62da6cd683a466ff8.jpgA interesting find was the sighting of s spirit of the house itself. Normally the construction of the house would be to new to form a spirit under normal circumstances.

The question was raised that in this part of the country it would be weird to find new construction without a basement. Looking for the most obvious place the cabal found another mystery, this one with Space, Hidden Door,  to hide a door to the basement. A second spell of Ward kept the cabal out. They tried to dispel but found whoever placed the spell to push back the clash of wills keeping it locked. Figuring it most likely it a Hallow locked up to preserve the Mana building inside Sacred Geometry was cast revealing there was no significant ley line were in the block. While Verium tried to convince the others to chase down the ley line shown by the spell Beks received a coded call from Greyscale her direct superior in the Arrow with orders to cease and desist in whatever they were doing in regard to the door as it was above their paygrade.

Cocked blocked the cabal turned back and started to unpack their belongings and make the house a home of their own.
