The Jinsei no Jiyū, or Freedom of Life, religion was formed shortly after the Cataclysm by the Korlag tribe as a way to tame the raging fury of the Oni people. Legend has it that their Demonic overlord was taught the values of kindness and love by a caring family, and seeing the beauty of it, the Demon became the guardian spirit of the tribe, its nature forever changed.
Structure: The High Shaman -> Tribal Shamans -> Traveling Shamans.
Importance: It supports stability in the region and opposes major autocratic and authoritarian entities.
Objective: It wishes to complete a rite of cleansing across the whole Demon Waste, so that the dead and infernal things can be banished for good and the ancestral lands of the Oni can finally be settled permanently.
Clergy Qualities: Shamans are typically kept separate from the tribes as a whole, operating as a kind of orbiting advisor to any group they are a part of.
Divine Purpose: The ancestral and guardian spirits provide good fortune to those that pray to them and perform rites in their name.
Portfolio: The ancestor spirits, when manifest, appear as embodiments of nature; talking animals or plants, or benevolent ghosts.
Rules:
- Never exchange goods or services with those that promote violence.
- Honor the warrior, so that he may rest. Honor the healer, so they may work.
- Never wage war on those that show mercy.
