Dortet had the unfortunate circumstance of being the Kingdom closest to neighboring countries, and though it had some geographical advantages, the Dortetians had to quickly use them to their advantage. Rapid modernization and feats of engineering were quickly undertaken, and before long Dortet became a powerhouse in its own right. Their aptitude for trade allowed a steady income with which to fund even more works, and there were a few times when politicians wondered if Dortet's power was outpacing Sangeria despite the latter being the "parent" domain so to speak.
Under Prince Tizel and his Regeant Bertrand, Dortet has been seen as a major force in the fight against the Empire. While there have been setbacks, currently the Southern Front is held firm, and there are talks that a counterattack could be set in motion at any moment.
