No Stone Unturned, Inc.
It all started out as a simple escort job from Neverwinter. Three poor souls that needed a change in life and money in their pockets take a job escorting a supplies to a small village for an expedition into an abandon mine.
The year is 1481, Neverwinter is recovering from attacks from Orcs a decade ago. The city attracts adventure types because the city has no City guards to take care of the local issues. Instead it hires outside help on piece meal tasks.
A dwarf named Unknown has sent word out and lay posters out seeking adventures. Flyer states to meet at a local city Tavern. The brave three adventures meet Rockseeker and he lays out the details and had them signed an agreement. The characters will be paid 10 gp each by the owner of Barthen’s Provisions in Phandalin when they deliver the wagon safely to that trading post.
From this point things turn for the 3 members of No Stone, Inc. adventuring group. The group finds a scene of an ambush on the road. The follow the clues that then lead them to a cave. After meet and greet (fighting is their type of greeting), the group finds out their employer has been captured. The group then ends up escorting the wagon to Phandalin as planned.
In town, well stuff happens. The group learns of the The Redbrands gang is bullying the town for the last few months. They also learn about Orcs near by and seeing the dead walk again. And something about a hipe Druid who has some info.
Soon enough the group runs into some Redbrand in the streets. Things don't go well for....the Redbrands. Well the group then gets to meet the man in charge in town and he would like for them to help him out with some orcs of near Wyvern Tor.
Before heading for bed for the night, they swing by the tavern to get a drink. They learn some of the local gossip while drinking a pint of ale. On the way out to go for the inn and sleep for the night. Sylpher talks to scholarly acolyte named Sister Unknown , a zealous young elf who despairs of ever ridding Phandalin of the Redbrands. Sister Garaele is a member of the Harpers. Unknown is smitten by her for some reason. (it must be an elf thing)
First things first, the group takes care of the the Redbrand Gang in their hideout (which is under Tresendar Manor). After a few fights they meet the boss, larno Albrek "Glassstaff" (aka Iarno Albrek). He make a slip for it. Too bad he had a nice staff, and good XP to dish out if caught alive. Then the group went off to Old Owl Well to see about some undead that where seen. It was nothing but some guy with his pet undead skeletons.
Then they took a little walk over to a cave. Caves never end well for these guys, why does the group keep going to them. Well anyways, Wyvern Tor there is a cave and the group took care of the Orc camp, barely.
The group with a few hours left in the day start the long trip north to the Ruins of Thundertree. Here they meet George the undead Ash Zombie. They say hi with their weapons. George is dead again. But he has friends. The group then meets some cultist who worship dragons. Silly humans, they are dead now thanks to the group. Then they went to meet a dragon and some how convince the youngling to leave the area, and its horde of treasure?
The party goes to a run dun, ruined castle that is the headquarter of the Cragmaw Tribe. The castle has long since collapsed to heaps of crumbing masonry, but recent smell of poison is in the air. The party first gets the hint that the young dragon may have visit like they suggested.
The party finds the front half of the castle empty except for some dead goblin bodies. While making to the back they find the leader of the Cragmaw Tribe King Grol with his pet Snarl a wolf and a female drow (maybe). On the floor the party sees Unknown, nearly dead and beaten up.
Once the party has dealt with the room, they discover that the female drow was not what she or it appeared. It was something no one in the group has seen before or knows of it. Rockseeker is in bad shape, the party's cleric decides to take his cousin back to town to heal him. Before leaving Rockseeker informs the party the location of the mine, tells you to save his other brother, he wants revenge. He hands over a map of the location and on the other side is his sketch of the mine they have figured out, lots of notes and scribbles of mistakes that where made while making it.
The party then explorers the Wave Echo cave, clearing it of undead inhabitants. Party first runs into a camp side with a dead Tharden Rockseeker. He died from interrogation that ended with a stab wound to the lung. After clearing out several rooms through out the day, the party rest the night in the store room to prepare for another day in the cave. Nearing the end of the cave and the party runs into the Black Spider and his minions. The battle was pitted against the party that was cast into darkness, thanks to some advice from outside help the party got some magical light from Nundro Rockseeker, who was in the next room. After defeating the Black Spider and taking his cool spider staff, the party heads back to Phandalin.
Back in town, Gundren Rockseeker offers the party the 10% of mine's yearly profits for life and to their estate after their death, however, the mine will take years to get up and running. He has offered to pay them in advance by building a fine manor house on a wide tract of land, gifted by the town as their way of saying thanks, expertly tailored how you wish. Contains private rooms for up to 15 individuals, as well as lower quality and well hidden semi-private quarters for a serving staff of up to 35 persons. Comes with a library too.
Now that group is off to investigate a strange illness that is plaguing the land. Far and wide word has spread about death having revenge on all those you have escaped its cold grasp. "Death Curse" they are calling it. Our group is sent off to seek an old ally of Unknown in Baldur's Gate who know something about it.
Group is send off with a few new items in their possession. They step into a portal and *poof* they are in a cellar of a tavern in Baldur's Gate. They walk out and notice a lot of time has passed them, they entered the portal in the morning and now its evening. Odd...
They find their way to the old ally's house belonging to a retired adventure, Unknown. They are greeted by an old woman who has seen better days. The party learns, that she too is ill with the curse and needs their help to figure it all out before she pass on, again. She give the party a small fee in advance and a promise each a rare item out of her personal collection. Once the party agrees, she ushers them onto another portal circle, and *poof* they are off to the location that Syndra told them all her research has lead to, the land of Chult.
Chult, a land no one truly knows, well at least in this party no one knows for sure. They party appear in the middle of a town, they see crowds of people, not in the streets but in windows, on roofs, balconies, everywhere but the road which the party is all on. Soon all their sense come back, including hearing. The first thing they hear over the roar of the crowds is thunder, but not from the sky. Also its day time again, odd it was evening just a moment ago.
Lucky for most of the party and included Syndra, they jump out of the road before the stumping feet of dinosaurs in a race come barreling down the road. Sylpher however, cant seem to make up his mind on which way to move out of the way and instead of talking the normal path out decided instead avoiding the danger, by riding it , therefore, avoiding it all. A strategy that later help him gain local fame in town, at least until the next race.
Well next, some stuff happened the group got their baring and found out some information about the land and people. Sylpher got paid for winning, got drunk and lost. They rent rooms, meet strange people, interview guides. Next morning set to move out of town and find the strange curse, well life decided the party need more curve balls and strange people. Hear about Sylpher winning the races and his occupation, it attracted a few strange bed fellows who want to be part of the rang tag team adventuring out of the town port.
Eventually, more like the next day, the group leaves, well it rained really hard, therefore they left in the highnoon-ish time. Off they went the 3 party members, a guide, a groupie, a solider hitchhiker, a elf seeking her daddy (most have daddy issues), her pet, and a priest woman.
They traveled up river for days and days and days and days. The shit got real boring. And days and days, see real boring. Eventually they drop of the solider but dont go into his camp after see their last camp.
Next after a few more days they reach a basin, the priest set off on her own mission.
They finally find some life in the jungle on a floating rock in the shape of a heart. A kind wizard woman, who seemed to know alot about the party and their benefactor. She rushes them off to a teleportation and pop they are outside the City of Omu. Looks like a large whole in the ground.
Soon they find this lost ancient city is not abandoned. Nor are they the first group to have made it this far looking into the death curse. They run into the Red Wizards. The elf searching for her dad is told by the Red Wizards that he is to the east and she runs off.
Afterwards the party being betrayed by their guide meet the Yuan-ti leader, Ra Nsi. He is sick and they can tell the death curse is effecting him too. They learn that the puzzle to get into the Tomb, and that this tomb maybe the next place to lean more of the curse.
Well they get in after a couple day and a few more friends are meet. And thats when death happens, first they companions the Red Wizards all but one die to the first trap. So after making it half way through the party loses it first member and the brute groupie loses it and kills another member. Soon Izzy is the solo member of the original party but soon finds a couple of friends father into the tomb.
Couple days later Izzy finds out that Wrex is not dead, well at least she had a clone, just not as pretty as the original. Ohh and the solo Red Wizard is alive too and pissed off at the party. But first she is putting that aside to take care of the Death Curse in the next room.
Soon the party is face with a soon to be formed god and its maker.
Well all went well, the party figured out a way outside the tomb and bam, 22 weeks have passed since they entered the tomb.
Now they are in a airship heading back to Baldur's Gate for there reward from Unknown. What will they do after that? What troubles will they get into once they arrive in the city?
The party decided that is best to take care of issues outside Baldur's Gate. They are leaving The Gate in turmoil among different factions for the soul of the city. There are protests in the streets, trash pile ups, fires inside the lower city, and so much tension that anything can make the City explode. Who will win Unknown or Unknown or Unknown?
After Unknown runs into his cousin Unknown in Baldur's Gate even after being warned the family would be in town. Zyl'Phr finds out Pyoor's godfather, Unknown is missing and Pyoor thinks the family is just giving him busy work to help keep his mind off it while the guards in Neverwinter look for him.
After getting their reward and spending the loot on a new sweet flying ship, the party decided they are best suited up north to figure out how all this missing people that Unknown knew about from Unknown findings from an abandoned hideout. What is Unknown up to? Why Unknown ? She is not famous for anything yet.
