It was night in the Kapsian mountains. Thousands of feet above sea level, the snowy mountainside villages were lit ablaze in the darkness. Tribesperson after tribesperson of the Vaelhrathi were fighting the invading forces of the Dawnlight Inquisition - numerous bandits armed with bows and poisons.
Fortune's Vanguard had arrived at the longhouse of Great Chief Dathrun - building lighting the sky with a red dark smoke. Inside, the shouts of rage from a madman and a barbarian cut through the crackling firey destruction. Reiga, Shamrall, Plama, and Saint Harold were fighting Dathrun. Shamrall kept in a defensive position, allowing Harold to personally execute Dathrun. Reiga kept near the blaze, and as the fight waged on - kept inside the inferno around him. It did not take long for Harold to strike down the Great Chief, and turn towards Fortune's Vanguard.
The fight was brutal and very costly. Harold struck down Xael, his final words an apology to his friends.
The vanguard ran outside the longhouse, baiting Harold into the colder outside. Ripley, J'ack Rameur, and Cleis Frostclaw continued to perforate, stab, and eviscerate the Saint through weaponry, bullets, and spells. He stood dying, eyes glowing red with hatred, refusing to back down. With one final scream from Cleis Frostclaw, now a Saintslayer, Harold's head slightly exploded, dropping the saint to his knees.
The remainder of the Dawnlight Inquisition began to flee. Plama went invisible and presumably left. Shamrall was slain in the combat. Reiga's will seems shattered, and is undergoing a major panic response.
Exploring the burning wreckage, Xael's body was pulled from it. We discovered that Dathrun was stable, in critical condition, despite everything. Pulling him out from the wreckage, J'ack fed the Chief his Cure Light Whiskey, and he still lived.
With the Chief alive, and a few men from the nearby shantytown, Fortune's Vanguard helped gather the dead and the living at the Longhouse.
