Our journey beneath the Sunwreath Isles continues. The wettest part of the season has already passed, where now fresh air greets the Crystal Caverns. The stalagtite-ridden ceiling and smooth stone walls melded with the crystal, becoming entirely of Glowing Cave Crystals. Reflections of light from our group, Fortune's Vanguard, helped light our way.
We wandered to series of crevasses ever weaving into mined walls. Machinations of the ancient evil were at the ready to greet us through the dwindling waterway, easily warned by their escaped hound likely days before. A foray from clockwork humanoids, used lance and shield to bar our way. A metal being of them casted magics at us, but our group held phalanx-strong. We burst through their defenses and tried to research what we could from their remains. Inside the one that harried us was a clockwork focus of evocation magic. We took it with us. Shortly after, the sounds of a loud thing approached our way. We tucked ourselves, hidden deep in a crystal crevass.
We were noticed immediately. A Huge clockwork contraption, seemingly utilized for crystal extraction, tried to grind our vanguard to dust. Xael took Rend , mortally wounding it with a single blow. Our champion gave us the opening; weakening it to fall like leaves in late autumn. Mostly unharmed and glad to have ourselves together, we retreated to rest in Woodsworth's Sylvean Hideaway.
As we rested, one expanse of sea away; an unknown figure continued to tinker in an unseen place. With one hand, they fastened the bolts on a massive hunk of metal. They stood up, lifting said metal to their shoulder; much in the shape of an arm. Brought to the joint, then connected ever so, the being seemed triumphant in its task. They spoke: "Finally. Now we can have some fun."
We slept, ever soundly. Our journey to Discover the Southwestern Sanctum has taken us deep in the earth, and we have found evidence of strange experimentation happening in this land. We will continue to chase this lead and question what we find; for this place is very unlike Tulsa-aria.
