preceded by If Any, and The Troupe of Leshies
The remaining leshies were addressed and cured throughout the week: A few fungus leshies, vine leshies, a mushroom leshy, and a gour leshy named Neppus. Neppus seemed interested in Woodsworth Moure's miracles granted by the spirit Caduceus. Despite mimicking the same gestures and words as the bunny, the gourd leshy was unable to manifest similar effects. Pretty soon, the leshies began to work with the party through If Any's beautiful translations.
With the immediate dangers aside, and a bound of new folks who have joined up at the port, the party considered what was most important: Food. While the port was subsisting off of massive radishes created through Caduceus's miracles, the sudden growth in population made it difficult to consider leaving when our stores of food are so low. With more folk to tend to the growing community, staying still and reinforcing seemed the best course.
The weeks flew on by. Port Skipper was certainly becoming the place to be. If you wanted any the amenities of a city, that is... A Forge, Leatherworks, Pier, Boathouse, and Fishery were built over the course of The Aftermath, 3466. During these weeks:
- A large creature was spotted by Malystin early in the month. He warned the denizens of the port, giving them time to consider: Should we strike out and fight it, or wait for it to come to us. This creature was one that could easily burrow through ground, and could burrow straight through wood. It would be too dangerous to engage at the camp. Engaging it with a massive leap that put the party in a precious spot, a few high-damage attacks with a crit was enough to slay it. Upon bringing it back, it rose from the dead. After deliberations and Byrd almost dying for the hundreth time, Cleis would encant darkness in his grip, and seize control of the creature.
- After some rest, Cleis would take the party a bit away from the camp, and they tried to seize the beetle inside the Bulette. This proved disasterous, as it tried to burrow into Byrd and kill him. Xael ended up giving Cleis a swift punch afterwards, and Woodsworth was disappointed in his choices. Fae provided some assurance, as Byrd fucked off while staring into the black, empty night.
- Fae went out in the cold and almost came back completely BLUE'D. Her disease was cleansed by Woodsworth before she could turn for the worse.
- On Fae's second trip out, she was attacked by a wood tentacle that implanted some sort of wooden parasite in her. Upon returning to camp, Woodsworth performed surgery on her - it was difficult and almost messy, but his time in the Patriciate gave enough insight on how to handle sudden surgery.
- Woodsworth and Kr'af ended up crafting quite the handful of goods.
- Byrd and Xael hunted and gathered herbs.
- a set of Breezeberry bushes were found (with a rare cantrip on them!)
As the last week of the year settled in, Maly returned to camp with a dire warning. The fog, which has been taking its time to expand, is now encroaching at our gates: It would not be much longer before the entire port would be consumed in the fog. The New Year's Eve Eve would have to be celebrated with this threat on the loom.
