Gathering in the market, a quick skirmish with more mercenaries is quelled without further losses. Ripley is forced to flee the sniper that is ruthlessly shooting any target in view. Woodsworth Moure manages to save rider of the floating balloon from falling once their ride was shot down from the sky.
The sounds from the skirmish and gunfire quiets down somewhat, but a loud voice is broadcast over the town. Commander Pura from Egland , and on behalf of Lady Eg, makes the declaration that war will be declared if the members of Fortune's Vanguard are not handed over by the City of Dubkov by the end of the hour.
Gathering in the market, Fortune's Vanguard quickly attempts to patch wounds and rally while discussing what happened. Shortly after, the council representative of Dubkov, Victor, makes their appearance, seeking to know the information on the events. The group agree to regroup at the Discovery with Victor. We discover the loss of Curby on the Discovery and the attack there. To negotiate on our behalf, Woodsworth recruits Richmond Bleek to communicate with Victor and bargain for a deal to be made that would benefit Serval and keep Fortune's Vanguard safe. Victor agrees, and makes arrangements for negotiations to be made with Pura so that better terms could be determined. With the time remaining, we attempt to gather more intel around the city. Communication with the Slow Cart Foundation revealed that the head of Marketing has been kidnapped, but was uninjured. Remnants of Daney are collected, and the strange beast-men attack at the north end of town reveals two bare corpses and little sign of what they were explained to be during the attack.
Milu Soma agrees to take on the task of marching out into the field with the support of Xael and talking with Pura. We learn that Egland is plagued by some sort of pandemic as well as being assaulted by monstrous creatures, and they blame the loss of Caduceus as the reason why bad luck has befallen the region. They also accuse Woodsworth of regicide, and Cleis of murder. Court summons were issued, but the summons were issued in a time when Fortune's Vanguard was out on Sunwreath Isles. With the retort that we did not receive any court summons for fair judicial proceedings to occur, and that we wished to aid Egland to the best of our ability, we convinced Pura to amend their commands and allow for a trial at the borders between Egland and Serval. We will have some time to make arrangements in town before heading north to these court proceedings.
As the negotiations close, another gunshot is heard as one of the troops of Egland is shot and killed by the unknown sniper. But they are spotted now..
