The negotiations are brought to an abrupt end as one of Egland's archers is shot down. Pura's force immediately goes on the defensive and attempts to start a retreat. The volleys of gunfire continue, one shooting Pura in the neck, and another taking down another archer. Milu Somatakes cover while looking for the assailant's trajectory, while Xael attempts to defend and aid in Egland's forces retreat. Woodsworth Moure, Ripley, and Cleis Frostclaw attempt to pursue the sniper.

A voice is heard over the battlefield and within the town, sounding much like Woodsworth, and giving the command to continue firing upon the Egland Forces Commander. Milu and Xael try to break off and retreat after finding little success with aiding Pura and her forces escape. The 3 of us attempting to catch the sniper finds that they have escaped. Ripley believes that Niles Eirladar is the one responsible in an attempt to start a war between the nations and profit off the encounter by selling weapons.

Without many leads to continue the pursuit of the sniper, we decide to continue our investigation. Ripley determines that the weapon used for sniping was magically enhanced. Milu found familiar writing in the ledgers of the office that he was working in. Different handwriting would be identified on certain entries within the ledger that involved the shipment of metal components in and out of Skaraysk. Woodsworth identified a foundry where most metals would primarily be moving in and out from. Ripley locates and identifies ammunition explicitly meant to assassinate her.

We talk with the Viceroy Victor and relay some of our findings. He reveals that he will need to start coordinating with the higher counsel of Serval. We are made aware of a captured mercenary who is being held in the jail. Some attempt to gain information was attempted, and we found that they had little contact with their employer and was simply paid to track and attack members of Fortune's Vanguard. They claimed many members of our group were easy to find.

Returning to the Discovery, we meet back up with the crew and after catching up a little we set in for the night. The next morning is spent with breakfast and the spellcast of reincarnation on Curby. Making our way to Richmond Bleek's office, we go over the existing Slow Cart Foundation contract. Next, we bring forth the spirit of Deany in order to gather information on what he was doing and who he was working for. As before, we learn he was simply obeying and being paid by an individual within the clasp that he was wearing.

With a lead from the mercenary in the jail that suggested our quarry could potentially be located in the sewer, we make an attempt to investigate. Some signs of traffic are evident at the entrance. We navigate the sewers, removing some alarm spells and stepping around tripwire traps. The water gets darker and shows signs of runoff from the foundry. We see writing on the wall showing "Foundary VTT".
