Our journey continued with intensity and discovery as we navigated the challenges before us. A number of old friends of Milu Soma lived at 621 East Street - a kobold blacksmith and another, a sibling. Rye Soma. We spoke with Milu's kobold friend and we were introduced to more of Milu's friends who have never left the city. Milu spoke that he would be spending some time away from Fortune's Vanguard, giving Woodsworth Moure great concern as someone who is aware of The Coming Storm is too far from his protection. For now, his brother would join us as we continue to hunt down Niles Eirladar. Wherever could he have run to?
Rye remembered a bit of the route that the organization made on their way to Skaraysk. We decided to start retracing our steps. We bought a carriage that was hooded, so that the glowing captain would not as easily discovered.
During our travel, about three hours in, our keen senses paid off. Deep in the woods, for a fleeting moment, we glimpsed a chilling sight: a corpse, a victim of a savage attack. A large, hunched-over creature loomed over it, shrouded in blood. We identified the creature as lycanthropic, a being cursed to transform into a monster. Once humanoid and lucid, now a beast that roams even in daylight. Understanding its weakness to silver and its formidable strength, we informed our group well out of earshot.
Seeking answers, Woodsworth called upon the spirits with fervent pleas: "We seek the man named Niles, who has made many armaments of death. He hides in some place nearby. Please, Spirit of Life, where is this menace?" and "Oh garden of spirits, this Tulsa Aria hides many nooks beneath its surface. What lies below our lands?" Through our inquiries, we learned that the land was healthy and happy, with nature in balance. However, there was no known underground access within a 9-mile radius. Interestingly, a large group of people had recently moved west of our location.
Our investigation led us west, where we startled a herd of deer and found evidence of campfires in the distance, about 6 miles away. Further exploration revealed that those living in the area were disconnected from nature, which remained indifferent and enduring. We discovered a vast cavernous seaside cave network, approximately 6 miles west-by-southwest, and noted an immediate cave entrance!
