Session 141: Two Soma Forward, One Soma Back

We continued our efforts beneath the watchful eyes of Skaryask, carefully plotting our next move against Senfeld Soma and his deepening influence.

Woodsworth delivered a gift to Leo Byute, but did not stick around to see how it all landed. More to be known on that front when he next floats out into the city...

Milu and Cleis discussed their approach carefully atop the Hard Ridge Accounting building, planning their infiltration at the dead of night. The structure had two floors—upper offices and a guarded records room below, likely with increased security. The goal was the upstairs office; the lower floors would complicate things significantly. They arrived under invisibility, but casting spells aloud alerted nearby guards almost immediately upon teleporting inside.

Chaos erupted quickly. Milu's attempt at disguising his voice faltered under pressure, though his magical confusion spell did briefly stall the responding guards. Cleis, hoping to control the situation, invoked strange magic, inadvertently sending some guards plummeting through the weakened second-story floorboards. During this chaos, guards clearly recognized Cleis, calling him by name, and the infiltration collapsed into a hurried retreat.

The pair returned to the hideaway, frustrated, empty-handed, and aware of the looming consequences. Ripley met them first, realized immediately that the mission had gone poorly. With Cleis's face recognized, our plans to publicly undermine Senfeld suffered a severe setback, prompting talk of abandoning Skaryask temporarily to avoid further scrutiny. After careful consideration, Milu noted that the guards had no concrete evidence beyond eyewitness accounts.

The following morning brought Luxarch Doofenshmirtz and city guards directly to the hideaway, confronting Cleis about the events. After some diplomacy, coin from Milu, and assurances of good intent, Cleis was let off with a stern warning—but at the cost of our friendly relationship with the Luxarch, now cooled to indifference.

Milu relaxed with a spa day, easing the tensions of our recent failure, while Woodsworth and Xael traveled to Kopak, successfully making a favorable first impression with the Master of Mint despite visiting her at home during her off-hours. They proposed trade negotiations between Skaryask and Blackfin Fisheries to alleviate potential food shortages, further solidifying our positive standing.

As our group pondered our next moves, the clock continued ticking. Without decisive action, Richmond Bleek's position remained tenuous, and Senfeld Soma's influence threatened to overshadow our plans entirely...

But then, Milu picked up a bracelet. From his mom.
A 'synecdoche'.
Perhaps we should make contact and free her from her chains.
