Our journey begins with the arrival of five unique characters at the Copper Axe Inn and Tavern in the city of Aegyr. The first to arrive was a young gnomish woman named Tanythe Ithnaca, a skilled mutagenist with a complicated medical history. Arriving shortly after was Leith af Cordirr and his young owlbear companion Beans, a bright eyed dwarf ranger with a connection to a clan of Drumshiel. Following alongside was Deirdre af Flannigan, a homeless dwarven oracle that Leith convinced to join in the quest due to her visions of Drumshiel's history. Finally, Aurent Clarus, a fetchling magus with a hazy memory and strange affliction, arrived with The Magnificent Kasduran who had called all of them to the tavern. Aurent was given a tonic made by Tanythe which helped give him mental clarity which he had not experienced in some time. Once the party was settled with food and drink Kasduran revealed the main reason for calling upon each of them, he was aiming to put together a company that would retake Drumshiel. For many years the prevailing theory was that Drumshiel was still inhabited by the army that conquered it 250 years before. However, rumors have begun to spread that Varniroth of the Ash, the red dragon that laid siege to the great city, had died and that waring gangs within the city now vied for power. Lord Percival, a friend of Kasduran, reported that he met a man in Leipol who claimed to be a prisoner of a goblin gang within Drumshiel.
Hearing that the group was all excited and interested in taking back the great city, Kasduran informed them that he had several acquaintances and colleagues who could potentially offer them aid on their quest. The party decided to meet with seven of them (deciding that meeting with Sybilla Claudia Acadiana, Cecelia de Motegie, and Captain Richard Ranigan was not in their best interest considering potential rumors they could spread if they decided not to work with them).
Grolun af Runebinder, a member of the noble Runebinder clan of Drumshiel and a skilled runesmith, offered the party knowledge of Drumshiel, re-establish the art of runesmithing within the city, and providing them with a few runes to start their journey. In exchange he asked that his clan's estate and possessions were returned to him upon their retrieval.
Evard af Frustwin, the son of two refugees of the 100 year war and a skilled healer, offered the party his aid in healing in exchange for food and lodging while he travelled with us.
Frank Noymand, a caravaneer from Rumpkin towne, offered the party three wagons, five caravan hands, two guards, six draft horses, two pavillion tents, and tool for clearing the roads. In exchange, he wishes to be instated as the caravan master of the company so that he may establish caravan routes within and around Drumshiel. He also requested that the party travel to a settlement around Lake Saravo so that he can transport some settlers there (so that he had some insurance money incase the party died along the way).
Junifer Holly, a druid of the Frozen Circle, offered the party her services as a druid, information about ruins near the Stuvvesh Forest, and the possibility to become a sage at Drumshiel. In return she requested that the party re-establish the relationship Drumshiel pregiously had with the Frozen Circle and to practice sustainable mining, hunting, and farming.
The group so far has agreed to take on these new allies, though they have three more to speak with.
TLDR: The gang got together, Kasduran gave us our quest, we talked with a bunch of people and made some cool deals.
Radical quote of the session: "If you're willing to take on my baggage, I'm willing to carry yours."- Frank Noymand
