9th of Birds
Sir Bertrand implored the Reclaimants to fight alongside Umgawesen against the orcs. They were once again hesitant, but after some discussion, decided that with the extra help of the guards and Sir Bertrand, it was possible that they could take on the Chief. Sir Bertrand rode out with a flag, challenging the chief directly, which seemed to work. Along with a battering ram and several of his men, the Chief moved to attack the gate directly. The party waited inside, with Leith, Deirdre, Tanythe, Junipher, Aurent, and several of the guards stationed atop the wall to try and pick off as many of the orcs as possible before they got through.
Tanythe, Aurent, and the guards managed to fell quite a few of the orcs, including one on the battering ram, but the chief took his spot. Two orcs on the side of the wall where Leith and Deirdre were defending managed to climb the wall. Deirdre set herself up to close the door to the tower once they got close enough to open it. Leith called Beans to his side to aid in the ensuing close quarter combat, contemplating for a moment whereter Beans would be able to bar the door. The battering ram was lit on fire, but the orcs pressed on.
TLDR: Sir Bertrand put on quite the act, maybe we aren't the most tactically minded, but we get by.
Radical quote of the session: "If you want to push beans against the door like a giant ham, it'll give you, Leith, a +2 bonus to your athletics DC, making the door harder to get open. However, because you are shoving your bear against the door like he's a piece of meat, he'll take damage. If he succeeds, beans takes 1d6 damage. If he crit succeeds, he takes 2d6 damage."-Marshall, completely done with our shit
