You can chose one of the existing back ground features, or work with your DM to either alter one of the existing features to better suit your character, or create an entirley new one.

Choose items fitting for your background. Generally You would recieve items like;
• A set of clothing fitting to your profession
• One or two sets of tools appropriate to your profession
• A memento or sentimental Item
• A small amount of gold (Ranging between 1 and 30 gold pieces). Higher the more well of your profession would have been.
