As an orphaned street urchin in the city of Yanmass (or so he claims), Aardun discovered he had a talent for detecting the presence of magical spells and weaving simple ones of his own, so thus began paying close attention to how the various traveling performers and charlatans plied their craft, learning from them and sussing out their tricks until one of them—rather than break his legs and toss him in the river for being a snitch—saw potential in his abilities and took him under their wing as an apprentice.
Now a cartoonishly unscrupulous street performer who's spent most of his career up to now swindling rubes and helping quacks hawk their snake oil using a myriad of flashy spells, he's turned his attention toward adventuring in the hopes of scoring some more easy money after his usual venues have wised dried up. How hard could it be, right? Well, very hard, as it turns out, but Aardun the Astounding is no quitter.
