The long continuously operating business in Brindlewood Bay is The Hawthorne Forge, the second is the Hawthorne's Silver Smith. The Forge is where the silver is manufactured, the Smith is where it is sold. During the tourist season, the Silver Smith is busy selling little trinkets, while the Forge makes high end artisanal silver place settings and jewelry. The rest of the year, Harlan Hawthorne relaxes alone reading the paper.
