Astora De Filletage was a runaway, that much was a fact. Once a prodigious study at a young girls’ academy in Yonia, she was kidnapped and carried across the world before she managed to make her escape. She found herself in Gadencia, a place she had only ever heard of by name, and didn’t know what to do or where to go.
Luckily, she was an intelligent young girl. She managed to get herself an apprenticeship at a mage’s shop by persuading him that she was a foreign transfer which, technically, she was. He gave her shelter, food, and a job that she was quite good at.
Eventually, she became a student at the Arcanum, went on to achieve full marks, and became an adventurer to pay her nonexistent bills. There in Gadencia, she would meet Damocles Meridian IV, fresh from a quest and hailing the praise of his home in the middle of the inn. Intrigued, she decided to hear him out and they spent the entire night together; Damocles regaling her with tales of Meridian and Astora, listening as intently as she ever had in her life.
When the sun rose the next morning, the two had promised to adventure together before she even knew it. It was some of the only knowledge she didn’t have access to that prevented her from seeing that this was the man she’d spend the rest of her life with.
