Darius was born in an orphanage in Yonia. He wouldn't be able to tell you who his parents were and, these days, he wouldn't waste time thinking about it.
He was adopted when he was young, brought into a rich estate where he was told he would be groomed as a servant. For five years, Darius simply went along with this. He proved himself a stellar servant and a well-mannered child but all that changed when his sister --another orphan girl named Dani that he'd grown up with-- died at the hands of their Father/Owner. Darius took her death as a personal affront and, instead of waiting until he died himself, ran away to live on the streets, stealing some of his owner's riches on his way out.
On the streets, he proved himself to be quite the stellar thief and adjusted to his new way of living surprisingly fast. He would steal whatever he needed to live, and sometimes things that he just thought were cool.
One day, he managed to steal an ornate looking sword from a cloaked man in an alley. As soon as he got away from the man, though, the sword vanished in his hands and the man grabbed his shoulder. Expecting a fight, Darius was pleasantly surprised when, instead, he was offered a place amongst others like him; Kids with potential. He was suspicious, of course, but he took the man up on his deal and was introduced to the Rho.
Eventually, Darius would be happy to call them his family as he followed in the footsteps of every other Rho Initiate before him.
