"Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature—the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter."
— Accalia, the Lady of the Hunt

Accalia was born under the light in the moon, at the dawn of the first century while humanity still wandered the supercontinent that we today call Kagrea, bound by the strict rules of a hunter gatherer society.
Humanity was not always as it was. There was a time when humanity was simply small tribes struggling to survive, hunting the beasts of the wild, and with every day, achieving more and more victories. Not all wished to see humanity flourish, of course. Ancient, powerful beings whose name has been lost to time (to which Accalia refuses to say, fearing she may invoke them once more) wished to see humanity return to dust, seeing them as a scourge upon the land. Their vile and powerful creations set upon the land, even going as far to enhance the natural beasts of the wild as a war between Beast and Man began to ravage the land. Where there once was a natural balance of humanity hunting what they needed to survive as part of the natural ecosystem soon gave way to massacres of beast and man alike, the formerly green, lush meadows now stained red while the rivers flowed with blood.
Due in part to Accalia's strong will, as well as the advice she gave hunters of that prehistoric society, the beings began to retreat under the ground into the Underdark, and humanity began to flourish, eventually being picked up by the Lord of Sun, Azasar, as they began forming the first agricultural villages.
She is known as the goddess of the hunt, and is generally prayed to before any large gathering operation. She is also the mother of wolves, excluding lycanthropy. However, lycans still pray to her along with their mother deity, as they are both considered two sides of the same coin, each representative of a different part of their self.
Depiction
Accalia has always taken the form of her favorite sentient species, humans. That isn't to say she exclusively loves humans, but during the first dawn and the aftermath of the First War, other sentient species were not yet developed. As humans were the first, it is natural she would feel a kinship with them.
Oftentimes, Accalia will adopt the racial traits of a wolf: specifically, the ears. She has also been known to appear in front of her followers in the guise of a wolf to issue advice.
Allies / Enemies
Accalia often enjoys spending time with Suvia, the two having very common interests while sharing the same gentle view of humanity. The two are very close thanks to this.
While she doesn't hate him, Accalia looks upon Silas with distaste due to the cold, sociopathic view she perceives him of having on the world. The two often disagree, with Silas often viewing her as immature and childish. Despite it all, the two understand they each are vital and at the end of the day, share the same goal.
Commandments of Accalia:
- Work for humanity to strive! Keep the cycle going!
- Respect nature and that which you hunt! Also, use every part of the animal.
- Be optimistic! Think good of yourself and your companions.
