The Betrayers are a group of Arisen from the Adamantian court who believe Primus's laws are wholly unjust and pedantic, and seek to undermine the position of deity into something more like a politician. More specifically, they believe that the Arisen, as divinity, are inherently separate beings far above humanity, and thus should not be subjected to mortal laws.
Their primary ideology is the separation of mortals and the gods, and the belief that a deity should be free to do whatever they so please, whether the result of that desire is good or bad. To this effect, the Betrayers aren't necessarily filled with evil-doers, and have good-aligned Arisen in their ranks who simply seek to do good of their own free will, and not because they are bound by laws to do so.
Tips for using the Betrayers in your session:
- The Betrayers has a large, ongoing feud with the Oath over their separate and incompatible belief systems.
- The Betrayers shouldn't be used as antagonists, as their association isn't meant to be antagonistic. If you want to develop a conflict using the Betrayers, try focusing on a specific member instead.
