"An individual tear can feed all of my needs."
One day, a strange-looking sorceress appeared before the King. She claimed to have a solution to his problem. The King asked, "What can you do? What makes you believe that someone like you can accomplish something that all the most powerful mages could not?" The sorcerer, unfazed by the King's questions, responded.
"All I required is a tear of the person that suffers from this illness, and they shall be the cure."
The King, desperate for any kind of solution, listened to the women's request and called upon all of his subjects to explain her solution. One by one, everyone in the kingdom offered one of their tears to the mysterious sorceress, who collected them all in a small bowl. At the end of the day, the King asked the woman:
"You have the suffering of my people in your hand. How would you cure them?"
The sorceress drank the bowl of tears and looked at the King:
"Know that their sadness is mine. So until my thirst resurfaces, your people shall not suffer from any more sorrow."
Having said those words, the women disappeared in front of the King's eyes, never to be seen again.
She had returned to her domain. Qelena, the goddess of sorrows, feeds off her subjects' pain and sadness. She descends to the mortal plain to satisfy her thirst, always disguised, never letting the other gods know, and always changing her appearance.
