Pressing on we found no sign of the warlock or the bard, but fell foul of some gigantic minotaurs, acting as muscle for a talented fire mage. Fortunately the confines of the tunnel made fireballs impractical but blasts of raging fire that twinned those of Alke tore through some wolf spirits that I had summoned.

Helikaon’s blade proved particularly deadly as there was nowhere the huge horned warriors could flank or outmanoeuvre him, leaving them to pitch pure muscle against his skill.

After we had dealt with them, we explored more, pushing to the north west, until we found a ladder, with some recent tracks that went up a smooth tunnel. I worried the ladder would be difficult, but as the tunnel narrowed, it became easier to wedge between the walls and chimney myself up.

The smells of oil and metals greeted us at the top. We had emerged into a place that it was hard to mistake for anywhere else in the city.
We were inside the Colossus of Mytros.
