Vallus has come through. Slavery is to be added to the list of crimes punishable by death. The debate in the Court was a work of art. A well rehearsed dance that clearly caught both the nobles and Sydon followers on the council by surprise. But more importantly, it caught Acastus and he stumbled around a bit… desperately trying not to step on too many people’s feet, led through the dance by his more than capable wife. On the other side of the dancefloor, Gaius found himself tripping over his own feet, ending up banished from the city; for someone as self-confident as him, you’d think he’d have learned the steps to the game of politics. And on that dancing metaphor, it’s a huge step forward and hopefully it’s sent the right message to the people of Mytros and beyond.

Helikaon made a most inspired speech, as if all that he had been holding back in the weeks we’ve known him came out as a wave of passion and poetical beauty. It is men like him that will change the world, men that can both yield the sword like they were born with it in their hands, men that have the passion and determination to change the world, but more importantly, men that will bravely stand up for what they believe in. Luckily, this group has more than one. I have them to thank for reminding me that you can change the world. And then there’s Loreus. I badly want to be the person he thinks I am… and no, I won’t admit to him even as he casually mentions it that I would by far prefer the easy way out, another Oath of Peace. I owe my friends to support them to the end of this. I owe many others to avenge them...

The Lady of Coins has claimed responsibility for the fire and the events in the market. Who knows what she aims to gain from this. The hearts of the people? She does seem to be playing a very intelligent game. It may be for a different reason, but there’s a bit of my past I’m rather keen to avoid… one can only hope she listens to reason and doesn’t turn my friends into decorations for the new room in the Hall of Heroes.
