Braz - Session 33 and 34

Journal
Chains and Riddles

The arrogance of the devout is that you believe prayer can change the mind of a god.
The arrogance of a god is that they can change the mind of the greedy.
The arrogance of the greedy is that there is always more. And they are devout to that creed.

This city is full of the devout, full of gods and fully of the greedy. It's hard to know who is who.

The temples are full of the devout and gods who process power and wisdom whilst doing nothing but amusing themselves with mortal emotions.

The polis is devoted to the king who acts above the gods.

The Academy is full of those greedy for acclaim. The Hall of Heroes full of those devout to the past.

And whilst all seek with a hunger their own salvation they miss the plight of those around them.

The fog of the future was stronger here than it had ever been before. If Thylea was going to be saved it was going to have to start in Mytros.

Braz looked around at the high shining marble and down at the filthy river of buildings in the valley.

How to remove devotion, gods and greed from this city? How to make Mytros respect itself and others?
