Letter to Versi (#12)
(Written after too many drinks at the Siren’s Roost the morning after the sacrifice, this letter is, again, somewhat messier than usual.)
Oh, my dear heart,
Words cannot express how happy I was to hear your voice; and how relieved I am that you don’t hate me! Perhaps I was rather silly to fixate on Lutheria’s madness and that letter so… I guess I am finding our separation harder than I cared to admit. I am so unused to being without you!
I am so looking forward to when I can see you again. I was rather disappointed when Acastus’ men interrupted our journey to you. I suppose I will just have to wait. But my heart is impatient: six weeks is so near, yet so far!
But, oh, Versi! We will not be the only ones reuniting soon: Alke has invited Loreus to Mytros. It is all very exciting! I did wonder if she returned his affections... but when I asked if she wanted to summon him here, she said yes! And then he was so eager in his reply!
I wonder if she ever did write that poem for him? I hope she did! He seems like such a romantic; I bet if she were to dedicate something like that to him he would just about fall over swooning! And I wonder if he’ll stay here with her? I shouldn’t ask, right? That is probably a little rude...
