Alke - Session 25

It’s remarkable how much of a hold the past has on us, as much as we try to shrug it off. Even when we don’t remember it. Calliope seemed shaken by the encounter with Damon. It feels like she is slowly given small pieces of the huge puzzle that is her past, pieces that offer very few answers and only seem to torment her further. The unknown is a terrible thing even in the best of circumstances, but the hints at death she is offered in Damon’s (and one would guess in Aesop’s) stories are now only chipping at her happy-go-lucky self. And as much as I am sure Calliope is a remarkable warrior no matter what her mood is, no matter what she thinks of it, I would still rather have her happy, chirpy and slightly annoying persona about!

Braz’s past or whomever Theon? Theos? Typhon… actually is makes for yet another mystery. But this time the impact isn’t solely on Braz psyche. No, we have a harpy brood attacking us, shouting cryptic words about a curse. I’ve never felt so frightened, so powerless, so weak. And poor Slippy and Aeneas. Or maybe lucky, they have been spared of the sheer fear the harpies instilled on us. And hopefully we will get a respite, even in this place of death, to call them back.

Damon himself, a powerful lich, does not seem immune to the effects of his own past. Whoever said love was the strongest human feeling hadn’t quite felt regret…or guilt.
