Calliope's father, Astraeus, was a perfumer who often worked with flowers grown and cultivated by the Elefthe flock. He, along with the rest of his flock, died during the First War.
Astraeus held great disdain for the Titans, believing them to have held back and mistreated the Sirens and other mortal races. He encouraged his daughter to work towards changing Thylea for the better. Despite these strong convictions, he often held his true feelings about things close to his chest; prefering to use charm and wit to avoid conflict.
Calliope remembers that, rather oddly for a Siren, her father didn’t really sing; though she doesn’t remember why that is.
