Xanthia - Session 86 - Electric Chandelier

Account

1 March 2022 - Electric Chandelier

Calliope tells the group Kryah is possessed by a titan. They can free her and in return she will give them a boon. Calliope says she swore an oath with the titan… another oath! Why was it okay when Calliope does it but when Xan ACCIDENTALLY swore an oath with Moxena she was the bad guy! She didn’t get it.

As they move around the cavern, they come face to face with another lizard guard, and take him out swiftly. Xan tries to communicate some short actions to help them move together but the party's blank faces tell her she needed to actually teach them the signs before trying them out.

As they move around the rocks there is a rumble from a cave, and some movement which quickly stops as they move further away from the noise.

They come across a cave, with an egg in the middle. Calliopes egg. Snakes wrap around the base and an odd ceiling hanging sits in the middle of the room. Every few seconds the electric blasts into the water, electrifying it around a dragon’s egg.

Xan shouts for Alke and Theo, and they enter the room. A horn sounds outside and Xan recognises it as a battle or warning horn. She jumps into action, as the fire snakes attack. She leaps onto the electrifying chandelier, a buzz running through her. She drops into the water, sizzling running up her legs. She looks down at the egg in the water.

A snake slashes at her, but misses as it is avoiding the electric zapping about.

A figure emerges from the back of the cave - a large cyclops with an odd coloured glass over his eye. Xan is dragged from the water by Calliope - confusingly. The only reason Xan jumped into the water was to get Calliope’s egg. Maybe then she would trust her.

As she stands, sopping wet from the waist down, she looks again at the man - Steros, and gets a feeling he is to be trusted.

She asks him, her new friend, if he can help them to take the egg from the water. He immediately advises against it but he asks them to help free his father from the Amazons. He mutters to himself and seems to be thinking of a way to transfer the egg without it losing any of its electrical protection.
