Xanthia Ornis (Arkelander)

Xanthia was born on the Island of Exiles, a lawless place of extreme violence, poverty and immorality. Her mother was exiled while she was pregnant. She spent her childhood there, though not an exile herself. 

Name Day is a celebration where residents of the Isle of Exiles name their babies before they are born. It is said where the name chosen will choose their path in life. Xanthia's name means Yellow Bird, (or Yellow Rage depending on dialect), which she believes contributed to her journey’s off the island and across the seas. 

Xan has heard of tales where people were forced to surrender their names when bought into slavery or servitude but never ‘losing’ them as he described. She believes that losing your name means you are changing your path in life.

With nothing left, Xan vowed to go and find her father. 

On her journey, Xanthia discovers that she is the daughter of Acastus Arkelander .

During her time with the Lotus Witch, Xan discovered that she also shared her home island with her exiled grandmother Idylla Arkelander.

Xan is of small stature with a fairly delicate frame. She has tanned skin and golden blonde hair on her head cut to her chin. Because of this, on the island, she was named the Yellow Bird of the Cerulean Gulf, with most others on the island having darker hair in shades of black, brown and greys. Due to the harsh environment and her struggles as a youth, she has a number of scars; with old battle wounds on her legs, stomach, upper arms, and either side of her neck.

Xan's face is engaging: though not particularly striking, when you look closely, there is something that draws you in. Her eyes are a striking blue.

She is never seen without the short cape that she covers her hair with and she always has a red sash around her waist. Xan wears a gold band around her head with a downward point,  and the pin she wears on her cape hides a dragonlord coin.
