Session 134 - 17th October 2023
As the soldiers move in to mop up the ruins, other soldiers erupt out. Ahead of the soldiers are leaders, captains sat atop brass and iron bulls trudging across the army. As they snort whisps of green smoke erupt from their noses and dissipate into the air. Blue-cloaked Order of Sydon members are armed and ready to fight. Bad news.

The threat seems to be spread across the beach and distracted and the Chosen take their chance.

Braz uses his skills with Religion to bring the gem of brightness to life, using its light as a distraction for the dragon and bring its focus away from their hiding place. | Braz | SUCCESS 10 The gem pulses with light. Using reflections to aim the light at the dragon. |
They avoid the gaze of the dragon and make their way over to where the library stands. As they approach they see dry canals and empty fountains with piles of sandy dirt piled around. Long jagged shadows cover the floor from the harsh landscape left in this barred city.

A scout is distracted by it as the party go past. The party are interfering with the messages going to the battlefield. |
The next stage may not be as easy. A heavily manned plateau stands in front of them, and the Chosen must climb to get above it or make it past the troops on the switchback stair.

Casting plant growth and using his Survival skills, Hipofilius brings trees and roots to give the party something to hold on to. | Hippofilius | SUCCESS 14 They pass the plateau and the guards, reaching the top of where to access the library entrance. |
The library seems to have been built by giants. Restored, with bronze doors at the entrance. Six armed cyclopses adorn the design. The prominent figures on the plateau have cages for heads.
They reach the library and Helikaon enters in the guise of Gaius. He reappears and tells them of their plan.
Helikaon causes a distraction in disguise as Gaius runs in and barks that the soldiers move up to the walls. Some move immediately and others take their time. Seeing an opportunity Xan dashes in to follow her friend.
Then spots the soldiers on her right gearing up to attack.
