The stokes camp is a semi-permanent campsite a short ways out of Purgatory Bluff near the Purgatory River, and the parking spot for Theodosia Stokes's covered wagon. She lives there with her daughter Valodja Stokes and her partner, Unknown and their two horses. Everything they own is in that wagon, as if they want to be ready to depart at a moment's notice.
