God of the Sun
Believed by some to be the king of gods, though the most devout of Avaksha's know his leadership lies not in the pursuit of power. Avaksha is a devoted god, both to his people and to his ideals. He encourages his followers to live a life of justice, and to dedicate their says to the pursuit of what is good and right. He is married to Ira, and his love to her is absolute. Followers of Avaksha and of Ira often work together, offering each others gods the honor of their own.
While dedicated warriors and paladins are eager to fly his banner, Avaksha lends his patronage to healers and artists as well, believing that the preservation and enrichment of life are as noble as its physical defense.
It is said that at the End of The World, Avaksha's form was split in two in order to combat both End and Dhaos. The Morninglord, Lathander, represented his softer ideals of healing and redemption. By contrast, Zadis is a dedicated warrior, calling for the annihilation of the evil and corrupt, and upholding your ideals to the final breath.
In his darker depictions, Avaksha's light is merciless, burning away the impure without remorse or mercy. It is this aspect to him that is said to give paved the way to The Insatiate Maw's ascension: a champion he brought into his celestial domain, who went on to stake out her place among the Prime Deities of this world.
Avaksha despises none more than demons and the evil undead, seeing both as abominable forces of death and destruction that are best purged from this world.
