The Tempestuous Lord

The god of the seas, and the brother of Ira. Ko is ruler of the oceans, and he is not a benevolent god. Sailors collect superstition, performing a myriad of rituals to protect themselves from Ko's wrath. It is known that a sailor should always offer the highest denomination of coin they carry and that a ship named without Ko's blessings will face the full wrath of the sea.

Ko is a capricious god, moving between cold calm and apoplectic rage. He is quick to anger and slow to forgive. Some have claimed a warmer side to him, the life-giving aspect of the ocean shining through, but this is reserved for the most beloved of his followers.

Followers of Ko encourage change. They understand no one thing can stand forever, that destruction and reformation is the way of life. Stagnation is unforgivable, and those who sit and wallow in this misfortune are to be looked down upon. Ko does not much care for the moral drives of Averans, only for the process of change. While he is a patron to revolution, he could side with tyrants as easily as those who bid for freedom.

In spite of their differences, Ko and Ira have an unshakeable bond. Ko is fond of his elder sister, and it is only to her will that he may ever bend. Both of them share a joy in uncovering the secrets of old, but Ko is more likely to covet this knowledge for his own, dealing in secrets for a price.
