The Matron of Ravens

It is known to very few that the Raven Queen was not always a god. She was preceded by an older, crueler god of death, who was unseated after her ascension. Shortly after her ascension and arrival in the Shadowfell, she was greeted by Istus, whom she would wed.

There is hardly a mortal in existence who does not hold some respect for the goddess of death. She is known to every culture, though sometimes under different names and aspects, such as Dreushai where she is affectionately called the "Old Crow."
