Red Panda

Being extremely adorable isn’t the only trait you possess as a result of being a red panda!

• Ability Score Increase: Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Charisma score by 1.
  
• Age: Red pandas mature after a year and live up to approximately 14 years, with a few living as long as 23 years.
• Alignment: Red pandas tend to gravitate towards the chaotic side of things, in sympathy with their fiery natures.
• Size: Including their tail, red pandas grow to be around one and a half feet tall. Your size is Small.
• Speed: Your base walking speed is 30 feet, and you have a climbing speed equal to your walking speed.
  
• Claws: Although mostly used for climbing and gaining access to food in a pinch, your claws can be used as weapons.You have a set of retractable claws which you can use as an attack, dealing 1d4 + your Strength or Dexterity modifier slashing damage. At 5th level, this increases to 3d4 + your Strength or Dexterity modifier, and 5d4 + your Strength or Dexterity modifier at 11th level.
  
• Darkvision: You can see in dim light within 30 feet as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You cannot discern colour and see only in shades of grey through this feature.
  
• Firefox: You are resistant to fire damage. You also know the fire bolt cantrip. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for this feature.
  
• Natural Camouflage: With their dark-coloured fur underbelly, firefoxes can be surprisingly stealthy when they want. You gain proficiency in the Stealth skill.
  
• Languages: You can speak, read, and write Common and speak Pandarian—a mixture of twittering sounds and whistles.
  

Standard Racial Traits

• Ability Score Modifiers: Red Panda characters gain a +2 racial bonus to Dexterity, and +2 Charisma. (2 RP)
  
• Type: Red Pandas are the Animal type. (2 RP)
  
• Size: Red Pandas are Tiny creatures, and gain a +2 size bonus to Dexterity and a –2 size penalty to Strength. Tiny races gain a +2 size bonus to their AC, a +2 size bonus on attack rolls, a –2 penalty on combat maneuver checks and to their CMD, and a +8 size bonus on Stealth checks. Tiny characters take up a space of 2-1/2 feet by 2-1/2 feet, so up to four of these characters can fit into a single square. Tiny races typically have a natural reach of 0 feet, meaning they can’t reach into adjacent squares. They must enter an opponent’s square to attack it in melee. This provokes an attack of opportunity from the opponent. Since they have no natural reach, they do not threaten the squares around them. Other creatures can move through those squares without provoking attacks of opportunity. Tiny creatures typically cannot flank an enemy. (4 RP)
  
• Base Speed: Red Pandas have a base speed of 20 feet and a climb speed of 20 feet. (1 RP)
  
• Languages: Red Pandas speak Pandarian and one extra language of your choice. Pandarian is a mixture of twittering sounds and whistles. Red Pandas with high Intelligence scores can learn any languages they want (except Druidic and other secret languages). Do note that as creatures of the Animal type, if they learn languages spoken by humanoids, they are physically incapable of speaking those languages without some sort of magical aid. (1 RP)
  

Defense Racial Traits

• Natural Armor. Red Pandas have +1 Natural Armor (2 RP)
  

Feat and Skill Traits

• Skill Bonus. Red Pandas gain a +1 racial bonus on Acrobatics and Climb skill checks. (2 RP)

Offense Racial Traits

• Bite: Red Pandas gain a primary bite attack that deals damage according to their size (1d6 for a medium creature.) (1 RP)
  

Senses Racial Traits

• Low-Light Vision. Red Pandas can see twice as far as humans in conditions of dim light. (1 RP)
• Scent. Red Pandas gain the Scent ability. (4 RP)
  

Other Traits:

• Quadruped: (RACE) walk on all fours and have no arms - much less thumbs - with which to use weapons. Felines gain a +4 racial bonus to CMD against trip attempts, and  take a -4 penalty with man-made weapons, even ones they are trained in, unless they take a Weapon Focus feat. (0 RP)

Alternate Racial Traits

Defense Racial Traits

• Energy Resistance. Red Pandas known as Fire Foxes gain fire resistance 5. This trait replaces low-light vision. (1 RP)
  

Feat and Skill Racial Traits

• Skill Focus. At 1st, 8th, and 16th level, Red Pandas gain Skill Focus in a skill of their choice as a bonus feat. They typically take this in Acrobatics, Climb, and Stealth. This trait replaces Scent.

Magical Racial Traits

• Pyromaniac (3 RP) Red Pandas known as Fire Foxes are treated as +1 level higher when casting spells with the fire descriptor, using granted powers of the Fire domain, using bloodline powers of the fire elemental bloodline, using the revelations of the oracle’s flame mystery, and determining the damage of alchemist bombs that deal fire damage. This trait does not give members of this race early access to level-based powers; it only affects powers that they could already use without this trait. If a member of this race has a Charisma score of 11 or higher, it also gains the following spell-like abilities (the caster level is equal to the user’s character level): 1/day—dancing lights, flare, prestidigitation, produce flame. This trait replaces their Skill Bonus and Bite attack.

Offense Racial Traits

• Claws. Some Red Pandas may have weaker bites, but instead receive two claw attacks. These are primary natural attacks. The damage is based on the creature’s size. This replaces the Red Panda's bite attack. (1 RP)
