Formally known as "The Merry Owl", this bustling inn is located by the docks in The Trade District of The Great City. Its sign features an elaborate wooden carving of an owl, but at some time it was knocked crooked, making it appear to lay on its side as if passed out drunk. This resulted in the inn being jokingly referred to as the "The Wasted Owl" and the name stuck. Despite attempts to fix the sign, it is always sabotaged and the owl is returned to its drunken stupor. Regulars often shorten the name down further to just "The Owl" between each other.
Located centrally in the city, and with a fairly sizable selection of rooms to rent to a reasonable price, many traders, mercenaries, adventurers and others call this place home. While it got a reputation as an at-times rowdy tavern, the proprietor Alyssa knows how to spot a troublemaker and things never get too much out of control.
