Following their return from the enigmatic Royal Garden, Luna , with her technological expertise, dedicated herself to decrypting a stolen data cube, revealing blueprints of the transference of consciousness into mechanical bodies—an alarming discovery that fueled their resolve to take down the Stellar Alchemists. Dervish took it upon himself to initiate a covert campaign aimed at undermining the influence of the Stellar Alchemists. His efforts bore fruit when they garnered the attention of a potential ally in their struggle. Rallick the Slayer, a bounty hunting figure on a mission to capture CEO of the Alchemists, reached out to Dervish and Luna, expressing a keen interest in forming an alliance.
However, the path ahead was far from smooth, as the Flames of the Phoenix, determined to protect their interests, set an ambush for our heroes.
After much deliberation, the group decided to establish contact with a key agent of the Forest Dwellers who left the message in Royal Garden and was known to operate covertly within the bustling city of Souk. To their dismay, upon reaching the designated meeting point, all they encountered was the agent's perturbed butler—a peculiar, flying octopus from the now-dead planet of Cephalos.
Undeterred, they retraced the agent's steps, delving into the industrial heart of Souk, The Rocks. Here, they embarked on an investigation into a series of mysterious disappearances and seismic disturbances plaguing the district. Their search led them to the ominous Grinder, the central factory and power plant of Souk. Their entry into the complex was nothing short of forceful, and as they ventured deeper into its bowels, they stumbled upon a hidden base operated by a sect of technocultists (Xuan Wu cultist) devoted to the enigmatic Xuan Wu cult. These fervent devotees were found in worship of an awe-inspiring giant war machine, reminiscent of a colossal battle tank.
A skirmish ensued, but the heroes soon realized they were outmatched by the overwhelming firepower of the mechanized monstrosity. Reluctantly, they beat a hasty retreat, returning to the city to reevaluate their strategy.
In the interim, Rallick sought an audience with the undead scholars of Tinkers' Ward, delving into the historical records of the War of Four Suns, an event shrouded in mystery that appeared to be linked to the colossal tank concealed beneath the earth.
Meanwhile, the remainder of the team dedicated their efforts to organizing the necessary supplies and resources needed for a future confrontation with the cultists and their seemingly godlike machine.
