Perhaps the most untamed of the Imperial Successor State, Estanor, despite it's size, remains one of the least populated area of the Westlands. Dominated by the mighty Direwood, most of its settlements are small and located along the two rivers between which it is nestled, the Trail of Stars and Estarin.

Formed early following The Fall, as the Merchant Lords of Whitestrand and other cities of what would be Estanor came together and elected the first Lord-Speaker of Estanor. Since then it had been ruled by the assembly of all the hereditary Merchant Lords of the country. Only the complete annihilation of a family can remove it from the assembly, and the requirements for being raised are strict, with only three having achieved it in the centuries since.

Estanor can be divided into roughly four parts, the Direwood, taking up most of the central parts of it. The northern strand, filled with the most prosperous towns and cities of the land, including Whitestrand. The eastern parts, located between the Direwood and the Roaring Cliffs, are somewhat less prosperous, and far less populated, but make good use of being the natural trade avenue between The Forge and Rivtal. Lastly the southern strand, sparsely populated, poor and constantly threated by the creatures of the Direwood.
