In Veil of Truth kasatha are the children of a Second
Generation species member to the League of
Worlds. Just as in the original setting, kasatha were
forced out of their homeworld by their dying sun,
escaping in a massive slower-than-light colony ship
that arrived too late to their destination. The Idari
exists in Veil of Truth as a massive colony orbiting
Luyten’s Star, a lonely red dwarf star a little over
12 light-years from Earth, but fleets of kasatha
clan ships can be found travelling among the Free
March systems to trade with other species. Kasatha
have refused to join the League of Worlds despite
sponsorship by their parent species, even after the
League offered to build them a new homeworld. To
the kasatha, living under the shadow of the League
in a world made to mimic their original homeworld
would be an offense to their traditionalist ways.
