The vesk of the Veil of Truth are the remnants of a late Second Generation species which once controlled an
empire between the Free March and the Meridath Empire. Vesk fought valiantly against the Meridath Empire,
refusing to join the League of Worlds in the war as that would mean losing their sovereignty. The Veskarium
was nearly decimated by the Meridath before the League managed to stop the Empire. As a result of the war,
the Veskarium entered a Dark Age in which society and technology crashed and burned for over a millenia
before they managed to reform their government. Vesk have since began to spread all over the Free March,
and even split in smaller colonies and nations, but most of the species retain their belief in a revival of the
Veskarium, the only nation to have survived the Meridath without the help of the League of Worlds - or at
least that is what they say.
