There are still humans in the World After the Fall. What constitutes as being "human" is broad. There are humans from the Aironkru community, people that survived living underground in massive bunkers and tunnels. There are some human communities that live by the land who were changed by Ruin, receiving strange traits commonly called mutations. Maybe there are even more humans living in the new world, but they are yet to be found in the Zone.
